Intent

A collection of seating and casegoods designed in-house and made in the studio's own workshop. The pieces share a way of building rather than a style: solid timber where the hand lands, a metal or timber frame carrying the load, and upholstery held to the parts of a piece you actually sit on.

Language

Walnut and solid timber against black steel and polished chrome, with bouclé, buttoned fabric and fluted grey casework. Curves appear at the back of a stool, the interior of a cabinet and the arm of a chair, always where a hand or a shoulder meets the piece.

Features

  1. 01

    The drinks cabinet

Fluted grey casework on brass feet, with curved shelving inside. The fluting runs the height of the doors so the piece reads as a single column when shut, and the curve of the interior is only found on opening. That detail is kept for the owner.

  2. 02

    Frames and joints

An armchair arm is cut from solid timber and sits over a black steel frame; a counter stool takes its curved back from a walnut frame. In both, the structure stays visible and the timber is placed exactly where an arm or a hand comes to rest.

  3. 03

    Upholstered pieces

A dining chair on tapered walnut legs, a lounge chair in pale bouclé between timber arms, and a navy buttoned ottoman on a polished chrome X-frame. Upholstery is confined to seat and back, so the covered area stays small and the frame keeps its line.

  4. 04

    Made in the workshop

The pieces are drawn and built in-house, which is why frame, upholstery and finish resolve as one detail rather than three separate ones. It also means a piece can be dimensioned and finished to suit the room it is going into.

In closing

A collection built on the same decisions the studio makes on site: name the material, let the frame show, and put the softness only where the body touches. Made in the workshop, so those decisions hold all the way to the finish.
