A low-slung family villa where courtyards, verandas and a pool deck dissolve the line between inside and out.

Intent

Nestled in the serene surroundings of Kurunegala, this private residence embodies a tropical modern aesthetic with a grounded sense of warmth and simplicity. It is a testament to contextual architecture — one that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living, earthy palettes and contemporary detailing.

Language

Tropical modern meets rustic luxury. Clean lines and honest materials create a tranquil, lived-in ambiance rooted in both comfort and sophistication. Soft neutrals and muted earthy tones are elevated with touches of green and rattan texture.

Features
  1. 01

    Architecture and layout

The layout prioritises cross ventilation, daylighting and flow. Large timber-framed glass panels create a strong connection with the outdoors — courtyard, veranda and pool deck. The form stays low-slung and private, balancing open courtyards against secluded interiors.

  2. 02

    Living and lounge

High ceilings with exposed beams, bespoke tropical fans and layered lighting. The open plan encourages interaction, while a curated mix of bespoke furniture brings comfort without visual clutter.

  3. 03

    Bathroom and vanity

Textured walls, a plant-filled skylight bath zone, and floating concrete vanities with vessel sinks and warm wood accents give the bathrooms a spa-like ambiance. Raw and refined finishes together elevate utility into luxury.

  4. 04

    Outdoor and poolscape

The pool becomes the visual anchor of the residence — minimal in form but rich in ambiance. Warm-toned lighting, deep green pool tiles and lounge decks evoke a resort quality suited to both relaxation and gatherings.
